Bathroom renovation in Woodstock, Georgia

Woodstock subdivision bathrooms are usually a predictable builder package. Replacing it with a well-built shower is one of the most satisfying remodels a homeowner can do.

The primary bathroom in a typical Woodstock subdivision house follows a familiar pattern: a large drop-in garden tub that rarely gets used, a small fiberglass or builder-tile shower, a cultured-marble vanity top, and a noisy exhaust fan. None of it is badly broken, but none of it suits the family living there.

The common upgrade is to remove the garden tub and use that space for a larger walk-in shower, sometimes with a bench and a glass panel instead of a door. Since these houses are relatively new, the framing is usually straight and the plumbing accessible, so more of the budget goes into the shower and finishes and less into repair.

The part you do not see

A new shower lasts because of what is behind the tile. We slope the pan to the drain, install a bonded waterproofing membrane over the substrate, seal the corners, niches, and valve openings, and flood test before tiling. You pick the tile. The waterproofing is not optional.

Keeping the house usable

Most Woodstock houses have more than one full bathroom, so we can usually remodel one while the family uses another. If you want two bathrooms done together, we schedule them so the house is never left without a working toilet and shower overnight.

Moving drains or changing the layout requires a permit from the City of Woodstock or Cherokee County, depending on the address. We handle it.

Questions we get asked in Woodstock

Can I remove the garden tub completely?
Yes. Many Woodstock homeowners do and use the space for a larger shower. If resale matters to you, we can talk through keeping a tub somewhere else in the house.
Can you remodel two bathrooms at once?
Yes. We schedule the work so you always have a usable bathroom unless you tell us you are staying elsewhere.
